1. Overview

Buzzlk ("we," "our," or "us") operates buzzlk.com, a mood dashboard that aggregates public X (Twitter) posts related to Sri Lanka. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information, and how we comply with X.com's Developer Agreement and data usage policies.

2. Information We Collect

From X (Twitter)

When you use our "I'm part of this" feature (coming soon) and sign in with X:

• Your X username (handle)
• Only public posts from your timeline that mention Sri Lanka, Colombo, Lankan, or related hashtags (#SriLanka, #lka, #Colombo). Posts about other topics are never fetched or stored.
• Post metadata we receive via the X API (e.g., engagement counts, timestamps) for the above posts only

We do not collect your email, password, direct messages, private/protected posts, or any posts unrelated to Sri Lanka. Our search queries are filtered at the X API level — non-matching posts are never retrieved by our systems.

Automatic

We may collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, and usage analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to improve our service. This is standard web analytics and does not identify you personally unless you sign in.

3. X.com Compliance & Data Usage

We fully respect X.com's privacy terms and align with the X Developer Agreement and Developer Policy.

• No data redistribution: We do not syndicate, resell, or redistribute X data to third parties. We do not provide APIs or downloadable datasets of post content to external users.
• Compliance sync: If a user deletes a post or makes their account private, we purge that content from our systems within 24 hours using X's Batch Compliance API, per X policy requirements.
• Display requirements: When we display posts, we include X branding, author attribution, and links back to the original post, in accordance with X's display guidelines.
• Private use: Data is stored in our private infrastructure for Buzzlk's service only. We do not sell or license this data.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Analyze sentiment and topics from public Sri Lanka–related posts only
• Generate the mood dashboard, topic summaries, and aggregated metrics
• Provide your personal stats (if you opted in) — sentiment breakdown, top topics, recent Sri Lanka–related posts
• Improve our service, fix bugs, and comply with legal obligations

Relevance filtering: All queries to the X API for opted-in users include Sri Lanka context keywords (e.g., "Sri Lanka," "Colombo," "Lankan," #SriLanka, #lka, #Colombo). This means posts about unrelated topics — personal opinions, other countries, hobbies, etc. — are filtered out at the API query level and are never downloaded, processed, or stored by Buzzlk.

5. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in secure, private cloud infrastructure. We use HTTPS for all data transfers and industry-standard practices to protect your information. We do not store your X password or OAuth tokens in plain text.

6. Your Rights

The rights below apply when you join Buzzlk and allow us to track your handle. That feature will be released soon — for now, these rights describe what you will be able to do once it is live.

You have the right to:

• Opt out: At any time, you can opt out of tracking from your settings at /me/settings. We will stop collecting new data and filter your handle from public-facing stats.
• Data deletion: You may request deletion of your data by contacting us. We will remove your handle, associated posts, and any analytics tied to you.
• Access: You can view what we display about you on your personal stats page at /me/[your-handle].

7. Third Parties

We use:

• X (Twitter): For OAuth sign-in and fetching public posts via the X API.
• Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics): To understand usage patterns. These providers have their own privacy policies.
• Hosting & databases: Standard cloud infrastructure. Data remains in our control and is not sold or shared for marketing.

8. Children

Buzzlk is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of Buzzlk after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
