Political parties in Sri Lanka are preparing for nationwide May Day rallies. The ruling NPP plans to hold 21 events across the country, highlighting the significance of Labor Day in the national political landscape.
Another May Day, another parade of political passion where the most labor these workers do is wave flags and listen to speeches longer than their actual work shifts. At least the politicians get their annual cardio from all that passionate podium-thumping.
