Sri Lanka plans to introduce Value Added Tax on digital services provided by foreign companies like Netflix, Google, and Facebook. The new regulation is expected to start in July 2026.

Netflix be like: "We've dodged taxes worldwide, but Sri Lanka's finally like, 'Not on our watch, streamers!' Guess it's time to add 'VAT surcharge' to that monthly subscription and watch everyone's wallet cry a little." 💸🇱🇰
