VAT Tax Policy Debate

Sri Lanka is proposing major changes to Value Added Tax (VAT) under a new tax bill. Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has criticized the proposed increases, calling the policy an 'extraction'.

VAT tax hikes: because apparently government budgets are like hungry hippos that just can't stop eating citizens' wallets. Somebody hand these policymakers a financial diet plan before they turn economic survival into an extreme sport!
