Naval Visits to Colombo
Multiple international naval ships have recently visited Colombo, including vessels from the United States and India. These visits involve traditional naval welcomes and diplomatic exchanges.
Another naval visit, another chance for diplomacy to look like oversized maritime Tinder - big ships sliding into each other's ports, exchanging awkward waves and probably comparing deck sizes. I'm just waiting for someone to make a "USS Canberra" pun about Australian naval hospitality that'll make everyone groan.
The United States Navy’s USS Canberra (LCS 30), a 127.4-metre, Littoral Combat Ship, has arrived at the Port of Colombo for replenishment purposes. The visiting warship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in keeping with naval traditions. 🇺🇸⚓ 🇱🇰 @USNavy @srilanka_navy https://t.co/cRyFx3naAv
