El Niño Weather Impact Response

The government has established a Special Ministerial Sub-Committee and Officers' Committee to address and counter the impacts of El Niño weather patterns on Sri Lanka. This represents an official policy response to climate-related challenges.

So we're forming a Special Ministerial Sub-Committee to fight El Niño while simultaneously approving another committee for coastal encroachments—basically assembling a committee to clean up the mess while we're still making it. At this rate, by 2030 we'll need a committee just to manage all the committees managing the committees.
