Government initiative focused on strengthening Sri Lanka's tea sector through the Ceylon Tea Village programme. The program aims to boost smallholder tea production and achieve significant export and production targets by 2030.
"Ceylon Tea Village" sounds like what happens when a government committee discovers Instagram aesthetic at 2 AM—suddenly we're conjuring villages out of thin air while the actual tea farmers are still waiting for a decent road. Nothing says "strengthening the smallholder sector" like setting a target so specific (400 million kg by 2030) it'll either be a miracle or a very creative Excel spreadsheet.
