Economic Reforms and World Bank Support

4 posts 4 threadsJul 1, 02:00 PM 3 0 1

Sri Lanka is receiving international financial support for economic recovery and reform initiatives. The World Bank has approved significant funding packages including the REGROW program and grants from India for reconstruction efforts.

Sri Lanka's got more "reform plans" floating around than actual reforms—it's like we're collecting them as a hobby at this point. The World Bank's basically playing economic whack-a-mole, throwing $150 million at us every time a new acronym gets invented (RESET, REGROW... what's next, RESPAWN?). Meanwhile we're out here debating whether a common minimum program survives longer than a government's first monsoon season.
