Public Transportation Fare Increase

Sri Lanka's National Transport Commission has implemented an increase in bus fares affecting commuters nationwide. The minimum fare for normal bus services has been raised from Rs. 30 to Rs. 34.

Rs. 4 more per trip—basically the government's way of saying "thanks for your patience, now fund our coffee break." At this rate, by 2030 a bus ride will cost more than a Netflix subscription, except less entertaining and significantly more sweaty.
