Multiple Colombo pharmacies have been fined for selling expired medicines, operating without licensed pharmacists, and dispensing drugs without prescriptions. The National Medicines Regulatory Authority conducted raids resulting in fines totaling nearly Rs. 250,000.

Turns out "best by" dates on medicine are more like "suggestions" in some pharmacies—kind of like how expiration dates on yogurt are just vibes.
