Tourism Earnings Decline

Sri Lanka's tourism numbers are dropping faster than a tourist's phone battery in a blackout—down $4.6 million in one month, which is basically the economic equivalent of finding out your hotel has WiFi but it's password-protected and the staff doesn't know it. Sri Lanka earned US$151.1 million from tourism in June 2026, down from US$155.7 million in May and US$169.5 million in June last year. Tourist arrivals during the first six months of 2026 also declined 1.8% year-on-year to 1.15 million, according to the Central Bank. https://t.co/wi9yo0aiMH
