Dengue Cases and Prevention

Sri Lanka is experiencing a significant dengue outbreak with nearly 8,000 cases reported in the second week of July. Authorities are imposing fines on properties with dengue breeding sites to combat the spread of the disease.

Mosquitoes in Sri Lanka have figured out the legal system better than most of us—they know that Rs. 2.1 million in fines is just the cost of doing business when you're breeding 8,000 cases worth of chaos. Apparently the courts are speedrunning "whack-a-mole" while the mozzies are speedrunning "pandemic."
