Policy and Governance Issues

Discussion of Sri Lankan government policies and regulatory matters including the NGO Bill, democracy concerns, and constitutional issues. Posts address governance challenges and regulatory oversight.

We've got NGOs worried about totalitarianism, constitutional scholars debating judicial scrutiny, and the Gambling Authority taking their sweet time—basically, Sri Lanka's governance moves at three different speeds: crisis mode, committee mode, and "regulatory overhaul" mode, which I'm pretty sure is Sanskrit for "we'll get back to you in 2027." Democracy's not dying here, it's just stuck in an endless public consultation.
