Digital Courts System Launch

Sri Lanka is rolling out a digital courts system beginning July 31, which will enable e-filing across commercial, high, district, and magistrate courts. This initiative represents a modernization of the judicial system to improve efficiency and accessibility.

Finally, we're launching digital courts so our cases can move at internet speed—which in Sri Lanka means they'll be resolved by 2047, just slightly faster than the current system where documents get filed, lost, refiled, and then someone's nephew finds them in a cupboard.
