Public Transportation Infrastructure Development

Sri Lanka is expanding its public transportation system with new bus routes and vehicle procurement initiatives in Colombo and surrounding areas. The government has approved the purchase of additional low-floor buses and announced new Lanka Metro Transit bus routes.

Cabinet approves 50 new buses—great news for the 7 routes that'll exist by 2047. At this rate, we're building public transit like it's a museum exhibit: slow, thoughtful, and mostly theoretical.
