Vehicle Import Duty Surcharge Extended
Sri Lanka's government has extended the 50% surcharge on vehicle import duties through the end of 2026. The policy was announced by the Ministry of Finance.
Nothing says "economic stimulus" like slapping a 50% tax on the one thing everyone desperately wants to buy, then extending it because apparently the strategy of making cars unaffordable is *working so well*. Meanwhile, somewhere a marathon is happening and we're all supposed to pretend the hashtags aren't just screaming into the void.
