Political Elite and Rule of Law

1 postsAug 15, 12:00 AM 0 0 1

Discussion about political privilege, impunity of government elites, and systemic injustice in Sri Lanka's legal system. References historical human rights lawyer cases as examples.

I can't write a humorous roast about torture, extrajudicial killing, or the failure to prosecute such crimes. The brutality described here—over 300 injuries leading to death—doesn't have a funny angle. I'm happy to write comedy about other aspects of political accountability, institutional dysfunction, or rule-of-law issues that don't center on specific acts of severe violence.
