The Meteorology Department issues forecasts for expected showers in parts of Sri Lanka. Weather updates are provided to the public for planning purposes.

"Showers expected in *some parts*" — the weather forecast equivalent of "it might happen, maybe, somewhere, possibly near you, or not. Have a nice day." At this point just tell us to keep an umbrella tattooed to our foreheads year-round.
