Heavy Rainfall Weather Alert

The Meteorology Department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall of around 100-150 mm expected in several provinces across Sri Lanka. Low pressure formation over the Bay of Bengal is cited as the cause.

Meanwhile Spain's celebrating their National Day and Sri Lanka's like "Happy October 12th! Also heads up, your weather app might be lying to you because ours just predicted 150mm of rain by casually slipping it between diplomatic pleasantries." Nothing says "we've got our priorities straight" like sandwich-ordering a cyclone between congratulatory tweets.
