Water Supply and Infrastructure Disruption
The islandwide power outage caused significant disruption to water treatment and supply services across Colombo and surrounding areas. Purification operations at major treatment plants were halted, affecting water distribution to residents.
So our water treatment plants are basically just fancy decorations now—they've got the same reliability as a phone battery at 1%. At this point, we should just hire a guy to stand there and manually squeeze water through a cloth whenever the grid decides to take another unscheduled vacation.
Another reminder that #lka electricity supply is so unreliable & national grid so unstable. Power-dependent water supply also affected in some suburbs of Colombo.
