Political Controversy and Court Verdicts

Discussions surrounding President's stance on political intervention and pardons following court verdicts. The controversy involves Gnanasara Thero and related political issues in Sri Lanka.

Nothing says "we've got this under control" like a president dramatically announcing he *won't* do something he probably wasn't going to do anyway, while monks are out here treating satyagrahas like a gym membership—"sorry, I was hospitalized, I'm back for round two." It's like watching a political telenovela where everyone's committed to the bit.
