Wildlife Elephant Rescue Operation

A joint rescue operation is underway to save a sick 25-30-year-old male wild elephant that fell ill in Sammanthurai, Ampara. Wildlife officials, veterinary teams, the Sri Lanka Army and Police are collaborating on the rescue effort.

Nothing says "we take this seriously" like assembling the Army, Police, and veterinary teams for one elephant while half the country's roads have potholes you could hide a family of elephants in. Pretty sure that 25-30 year old male got sick just from stress watching the coordination meeting about saving him.
