Sri Lanka has established a presidential council to oversee the management and preservation of the Anuradhapura Sacred Area. This reflects efforts to protect the country's Buddhist heritage sites.

Finally, a presidential council dedicated to managing a sacred area—because nothing says "spiritual reverence" like adding another layer of bureaucracy. I'm sure the monks are thrilled that their 2,300-year-old temple now has a governance structure that probably requires three approvals just to move a flower pot.
