Human Rights and Social Issues

Posts address LGBT+ rights under colonial-era laws criminalizing same-sex relations, journalist disappearances including Prageeth Eknaligoda, and concerns about arbitrary arrests and civil liberties in Sri Lanka.

#whereisprageeth? Ask #SriLanka to investigate the disappearance of journalist Prageeth #Eknaligoda. Also, please do our online action & join our photo action for him. Thanks. #lka #stillnoanswers https://t.co/zeDlhYkhO5 https://t.co/2B7R4Ec33L

As #Commonwealth leaders gather at #CHOGM26, LGBT+ people in #SriLanka are still paying the price of colonial-era laws Same sex relations & trans gender expression are criminalised, with up to 10 years in prison. Repeal these laws, protect LGBT+ people! https://t.co/oJXorAc3PB
