Road Traffic and Expressway Congestion

Traffic congestion was reported on the Expressway between Athurugiriya and Kothalawala interchanges due to maintenance work, with flooding also causing severe traffic disruptions across Colombo. Road authorities issued updates about affected commute routes.

"Maintenance work" is just what we call it when traffic comes to a complete standstill for reasons that remain classified information—it's like a surprise party, except nobody wanted it and everyone's late for work. The RDA really said "let's make the Expressway express absolutely nothing but our commitment to creative scheduling."
